Drone services for aggregate pits and mining in Alberta

Pits are measured on a cycle, and the value of the numbers depends entirely on whether this cycle is comparable to the last one. Capture method, positioning and reference surface are held constant so the trend means something.

Stockpile volumes come from an RTK capture processed against a stated reference surface. The figure arrives with the method attached, which matters when the number goes into a reserves report or a reconciliation.

Pit terrain models support face progression, haul road planning and reclamation reporting. Repeat captures on a quarterly or annual cycle build the record that regulators and auditors ask for.

A recent aggregate pit capture returned 2.51 cm/px at 0.01 m RMSE using live network corrections, with RTK tagged source imagery handed over so the client's own photogrammetry software could reprocess independently.
